Mike is Working Hard To Earn Your Trust

Mike Keys is in his second term as Clinton Township Trustee representing residents’ interests in local government. After first being elected in November, 2016, he served as a member of the Diversity Committee, Conservation Committee, Election Commission, Housing Commission, Prince Drewry Park Advisory Committee and as an alternate member for the Parks & Recreation Committee and Budget, Ways & Means Committee. In addition, his community involvement includes Comprehensive Youth Services (CYS).

While in office, Keys has moved efforts to create additional government transparency and fiscal responsibility, and he has pushed for economic development and recreation projects to be considered uniformly throughout the whole Township. 

Keys leads with energy and enthusiasm and provides a voice for residents and employees in Township proceedings. He is a passionate advocate for finding new, efficient ways by which resident services are communicated and delivered, ensuring availability and accessibility to all Township residents.

In addition, Keys has spearheaded park improvement and beautification projects at Prince Drewry Park to create a pleasant and safe place for the community to relax and play. He has helped the Quinn Road community with preserving the important historical legacy of founders of the area.

Keys grew up in Clinton Township surrounded by a large, extended family and strong community values were instilled from an early age. After graduating from Central Michigan University with a bachelors degree with focus on history and finance, he returned home to Clinton Township to begin a career. Keys’ professional experience includes working for Congressman Sander Levin, the Macomb County Board of Commissioners and, currently, the Oakland County Board of Commissioners as a senior financial analyst. This broad swath of experience has provided exposure and expertise in legislative process, government finance and proceedings.

Keys lives with his wife, Mary, and their son, James, in Clinton Township.
